I completed this beautiful fowler recently and she will take her place in my gun safe next to rifle I completed last summer.
Maggie has a 42″ long, 20 gauge Colerain barrel, a round-faced English flintlock, and brass furniture, which have all been distressed and antiqued. I also fire-blued the screw and bolt heads as well as the single fancy trigger. These are nestled in an absolutely gorgeous piece of highly-figured black cherry. I chose not to embellish her any more than that as I did not wish to detract from the beauty of the wood I used for the stock. These photos truly don’t do her any justice.
The 2019 Tennessee spring gobbler season opens on March 30. I hope I can find the time to pattern her before then! I believe any gobbler would be proud to be taken with this graceful beauty!
