Lancaster School

Rifles of this school are my favorite. The sleek lines of their architecture encourage the eye to smoothly flow from muzzle to buttplate. Patchboxes from this school can be sliding wooden or brass. Those of brass many times depicted a daisy head finial and rococo scrolls along its edges. Relief and incised carving accent the beautiful and flowing lines the architecture of this rifle has to offer. Notable gun builders whose works were very influential are Jacob Dickert and Isaac Haines.

Pricing ~ The base price for my Lancaster rifles is $2,750. This includes a swamped Rice barrel (length and caliber your choice), appropriate lock (right or left hand), nicely-figured stock (curly maple, black walnut, or cherry available) single fancy trigger, side plate, muzzle cap, and remaining furniture (brass, German silver, iron available). This does not include any other inlays, carving, or engraving. These are available at an additional cost.  I require a deposit of $1,400 to secure a spot on my build calendar.  It generally takes approximately 4 weeks to complete once I begin work. The balance is due upon completion of the gun. I ship my guns in a wooden crate via FedEx and insure them for their value. The cost of shipping is in addition to the cost of the gun and typically runs between $175.00 to $200.00.  I appreciate your interest in my work. Thank you for considering me to build your gun. I’m looking forward to a discussion about what I can build for you.
