This rifle just came off the bench today. It’s a .54 caliber Poor Boy. Now some of you might say, “Wait a minute! Poor Boy’s don’t have sliding wooden patchboxes!” To that I say, “Anybody still chasing elk and deer at 84 years of age can have a rifle built any way they’d like!”
This iron-mounted rifle has a 42″, C-profile Rice barrel with round-bottom rifling. Ignition is provided by a left-hand Siler lock. The owner has named her after his dog who was his constant companion for seventeen years. “Gracie” leaves for Colorado Monday morning.
