Rifles that were made for the working class, these "Schimmels" were built without the furniture found on rifles from other schools of the 18th Century.
These guns were built without a sideplate, toeplate, muzzlecap, and many times, buttplate. While a patchbox was not normally found on such a rifle, a sliding wooden patchbox was not unusual. Even without the furniture, these rifles are quite capable of producing fantastic groups.
Made with high quality parts, "Poor Boys" are a good alternative when looking for a gun that you won't be afraid to take afield.
